Lysle Bower

Obituary

Lysle L Bower, 50, of Lake in the Hills, passed away on July 22, 2023, with his beloved wife of 23 years, Liana, and their four beautiful children, Briana, Boston, Braylon, and Brooklyn by his side.
Lysle was born in Illinois on March 13, 1973, to parents Vernon “Butch” and Nancy (nee Butts) Bower. He grew up in Batavia. On August 7, 1999, Lysle married Liana Trevino, and together the couple raised four beautiful children.
Lysle had many areas of interest, from showing sheep as a youngster to wanting to fly an F-140 Tomcat. He had a passion for sports as a kid, whether it was playing basketball in the neighborhood or running to the park. He played four sports in school: wrestling, track, football, and basketball. He earned a scholarship to play football and run indoor track at North Park University in Chicago. Lysle worked in transportation and owned his own semi. Lysle and Liana traveled the country before they decided to come home, marry, and start a family. Lysle started as a driver for UPS and then management. He stayed in the transportation industry before finally finding his dream job working for Richards Building Supply as a DOT Compliance Manager. Lysle had love for semi-trucks, military planes, space, science-fiction, and history. He also loved to play videogames, watch movies and TV shows, travel, listen to music, coach youth sports, and most of all be with his family. Lysle was an avid Chicago sports fan. He loved to watch the games on TV, listen to sports talk radio, and go to home games for the Bulls, Cubs, Bears, and Sox. But when it came to sports, nothing brought him more joy than coaching his kid’s youth sports. He had a heart of gold, was a great listener, a gentle giant, approachable, positive, and always saw the good in everything. Lysle had a gift of being able to make an impact on you with one conversation. He was a believer in mankind. His aura was a powerful eternal optimist. He truly was “The salt of the Earth.”

Lysle is survived by his beloved wife of twenty-three years, Liana Bower, his children, Briana Bower, Boston Bower, Braylon Bower, and Brooklyn Bower, his siblings, Steve (Cathy) Bower, and Terri (Bob) Blahnik, Liana’s sister, Jill (Ken) Burgdorf, Liana’s mother, Janet Trevino, and his nieces and nephews, Haley Burgdorf, Jackson Burgdorf, Jocelyn Burgdorf, Daniel Bower, April Bower, Jessie Morris, Krystal Blahnik, and Victoria Blahnik.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Butch and Nancy Bower.

Visitation will be Monday, July 31, 2023, from 4 p.m. to time of service 7 p.m. all at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. Donations may be made to the Bower family at https://gofund.me/8201e69c

My most sincere condolences to Liana and the family. I work in the RBS Corporate offices where I met Lysle earlier this year. While we worked in different departments, most weeks I would catch sight of Lysle and say hello or just throw a quick wave and a smile good morning. On one occasion I remember speaking with Lysle about him looking forward be being off his crutches and then we started talking about our children and the sports they're involved with. I will always remember the joy and love with which Lysle spoke of his family their accomplishments which he was so very proud of. Eternal rest grant him Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon him.
