Kenneth Thomas, 87, of Huntley, died peacefully on August 17, 2023, in Elgin.
Ken was born in Chicago on January 20, 1936, to parents Lloyd and Mary (nee Klimova) Thomas. While working at Jewel he met Judith Carlsen and after dating for several years the couple was married on May 20, 1961. The couple had four children together and raised them in Chicago before moving to Huntley thirteen years ago. Ken loved baseball and football and was a dedicated fan of the Chicago Bear and the Chicago Cubs. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Ken is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Judy Thomas, his children, Kenneth (Marybeth) Thomas, Linda Wieczorek, Robert (Chris) Thomas, and Scott (Dorie Bertucci) Thomas, his grandchildren, Michelle (Harrison), Jessica, Nicole, Joseph, Jason, Daniel, Valerie, and Jeffrey, and his great-grandchildren, Jackson, and Kennedy.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 24, 2023, from 9 a.m. to time of mass 10 a.m. all at St. Mary Church, 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley.
