Jeffrey Rosenthal

Obituary

Jeffrey John Rosenthal, 59, of Lake in the Hills, died peacefully on Saturday, August 26, 2023, in Huntley.
Jeff was born in Elgin on October 12, 1963, to parents William and Helma Rosenthal. He married his longtime partner, Peggy Bookman, on February 14, 2018. Jeff loved his family unconditionally and there was nothing he wouldn’t do for them. He had a big sense of humor and always had a great comeback to his friends’ jokes. He enjoyed hanging out with the guys and they could often be found playing poker, darts, and pool. He and Peggy loved to go to festivals and concerts with their friends. Jeff lived his life to the fullest and he did it all his way. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

Jeff is survived by his beloved wife, Peggy Rosenthal, his mother, Helma Rosenthal, his children, Kyle Rosenthal, and Cody Rosenthal, his stepchildren, Cory Reynolds, Jesse (Lupe) Reyes, Sissy (Maria) Reyes, and Martin “Bubus” (Kristina) Reyes, his 17 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, his siblings, Gloria Wilson, Larry (Janice) Rosenthal, and Elaine Bates, many nieces and nephews, and his dog, Nina.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Rosenthal.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 9, 2023, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. with a time for sharing stories at 3 p.m. all at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.

Jeff was a long time friend. We met in our twenties and never lost touch thru all these years. He was one of the hardest working men I know. He was a good friend to me, my friends and family. He will forever be in my heart and will forever be my friend in this life and the next.
