Obituary

Robert H. Vanderbrugen, 69, of Lake in the Hills, passed away on September 5, 2023. Robert retired from the United States Postal Service after a 30 year long career. Following that, Robert worked as a reporter for the Democrat News newspaper. He also worked as an award-winning Professional photographer, published poetry writer, and graduated from Pima Community College. Robert loved all things Star Trek, reading, and a hearty meal. Those who knew Robert will miss him dearly.
Robert is survived by his daughters Dawn (Milan) and Gina (Bill), his brother James, sister Virginia and
his grandson Jake.
Robert is proceeded in death by his parents Howard and Fern along with his sister Olive.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on September 13, 2023, at Defiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Rd, Huntley. Following inurnment will take place at Whitney Cemetery, 40 Burlington Rd, Campton Hills.

Bob and I spent a lot of time together when we were younger and lost touch recently but thought of him a lot. My condolences to the family my family. Bob see you on the other side.

My condolences to the family. There never seems to be enough words to bring comfort. Robert was such a kind, caring and wonderful person. It was a pleasure working as Robert's caregiver, as he always made me feel welcomed and appreciated. Robert always made sure to recognize my work and effort. It was a pleasure working with him, and he will truly be missed.
