William “Bill” Blake Froehlich Jr., 89, of Huntley, died peacefully in his home on September 7, 2023, with his family by his side. Bill was born in Chicago on March 4, 1934 to parents William and Rose (nee Bublik) Froehlich.
Bill served in the army after graduating from Fishburne Military School, Virginia. Bill enjoyed all sports, in particular tennis, golf and pickleball. He was also a baseball coach, manager and vice president of Waycinden Baseball League. Bill spent nearly 40 years as an owner of a successful independent insurance agency. After his retirement, he and Bonniejean enjoyed their winters in Florida.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Bonniejean (nee Roady) Froehlich, his children, Steven (Lynn) Froehlich, Dana (Daniel) Briscoe, Karyn (Joseph) Tully; Bonniejean’s children, Gregory Roady and Tamara (Ramon) Marfori; his grandchildren, Steven (Tanya), Timothy (Lee), Kimberly, Kirsten, William and Elizabeth; her grandchildren, Christina, Kyle, Francesca, Mikayla and Michael; his sister, Lorraine; many loving nieces, nephews and friends; and his dog Esmeralda.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Judith (nee DeCelles) Froehlich.
Visitation will be Saturday October 7, 2023, from 11 a.m. to time of memorial service 1 p.m. all at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.
