Joan Elaine Graves (Lindquist) was born in Rockford, Illinois on February 14, 1939. On April 3, 1960 she married James E. Graves. Joan, a member of the Huntley Area Lions Club and club historian, an avid crafter, baker and seamstress, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 7, 2023. Joan was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Irene Lindquist, brother Carl (Karen) Lindquist and grandson Tyler Graves. Joan is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, James, as well as sons Steven (Dawn) Graves, Mark (Mary) Graves and Scott Graves, eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, sister Barb and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, October 14 at 11 AM at Salem Lutheran Church, 1145 DeKalb Ave, Sycamore, Illinois. Visitations are Friday, October 13 from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM at DeFiore Funeral Home at 10763 Dundee-Huntley Road, Huntley, Illinois, and one hour prior to the celebration service. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Huntley Area City Lions Club or Salem Lutheran Church.
