Ronald Peter

Obituary

Ronald Peter “Ron” Dahlman of Huntley Illinois, peacefully passed away on October 6, 2023 after several months of hospice care. He quietly left this earth and entered into the arms of Jesus with family by his side.
Ron, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend to many, was born in Stanchfield, MN in 1934. He followed the Lord's guidance moving to northern Illinois and began his teaching career. In the late 50’s, he was led to serve Camp Hickory as a caretaker and spent seven years using his multitude of talents forwarding Christian camp ministry. He continued to follow the growth of the camp throughout these many years. He loved singing and directing a church choir and was blessed in making many lifelong friends along the way. He was always faithful to his wife, his family and his Lord. He opened his home to anyone who needed a place to stay. He is celebrated for his dedication to his family: remembered by being purposely intentional in including his four children and their spouses, his 16 grandchildren and their spouses and 19 great grandchildren in his love. His low-key passion for God influenced countless people and led many to deepen their relationship with God.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Fern, brother, Willis Dahlman, sons: Darrell Dahlman (Carlene), Ken Dahlman (Lori), Karl Dahlman (Chris), daughter, Donna Biere (Jim Giese). He was preceded in death by his parents Eben and Verna Dahlman, his sisters, Dorothy Dahlman and Vergie Nelson, grandson Daniel (Ken and Lori) and daughter-in-law Connie Simpson (Karl).
The family considers his life similar to a strong tree with deep roots of faith. This was demonstrated by his worship of God whom he served and dedicated his life to honor. We are so blessed to be a part of his legacy. Ron was privately laid to rest at Grant Cemetery in Ingleside Illinois on October 9th.
The CELEBRATION OF LIFE service for Ronald Peter Dahlman will be held on SUNDAY, October 29, 2023. For those who wish we will begin at 2:30 pm at the Grant Cemetery, Molidor Rd, Ingleside, with the celebration continuing at 3:00 pm at CrossPoint Church 27430 W Nippersink Rd Ingleside, Illinois. This will be a time to gather and honor Ron over his favorite meal and fellowship. Your prayers (and attendance if feasible) are greatly appreciated for this very special time of remembering Ron, husband, dad, grandfather, great grandfather, and wonderful friend to many.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Ron’s memory to CrossPoint Church and Voice Of the Martyrs.

Ron together with Fern opened their hearts and their home to Dave early in our dating relationship. They had us for dinner and nourished us not only with food but with the word of God. Truly couple goals! We were young and were blessed by how God used Ron in our growth as believers and as a couple.. Sending hugs and prayers to the Dahlman family. Wish we lived closer and could witness the many stories and laughs that will be shared.
