Janice Taillon

Obituary

Janice Elaine Taillon, 80, of Huntley, died on November 8, 2023.
Jan was born in Chicago on July 21, 1943, to parents Harold and Lucille (nee Cunningham) Buker. She married Art Taillon on July 22, 1961, and the couple has been happily married for 62 years. Jan was a skilled hairdresser for 37 years, and her kindness and dedication to her clients won over the hearts of many. She was always put together with her hair, makeup, and clothes perfectly styled. She adored being a mother and was affectionately called the “Neighborhood Mom” when her daughters were growing up as she was always willing to chaperone any kids to the pool or other fun activity. She was compassionate to animal rescue and the house was often filled with a variety of pets. Jan was very sociable and enjoyed visiting with friends and family. She was known for wonderful spaghetti and meatballs and always put together a family feast. She was a loving, supportive, and kind woman who will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

Jan is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Art Taillon, her daughters, Laura Spradlin, and Tracey (Ken) Sumner, her granddaughters, Erin, Josie, and Grace, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Robin Taillon, her sister, Joanne (John) Mullin, and Donald (Christine) Buker.

Mass will be Saturday, November 18, 2023, at 10 a.m. with a visitation the hour prior, all at St. Mary Church, 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley.
