Joanne E. Klinger, 86, of Huntley, died peacefully, November 16, 2023 at her home with her family by her side.
Joanne was born August 7, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Arthur and Esther Wolter. In 1957 she married Paul G. Klinger who preceded her in death in 1991.
Joanne worked as a cashier at Jewel and at Schwinn Bikes for over 25 years. Family was everything to her and always enjoyed spending time with her family. She was an avid sports fan of Cubs, Bears and Oklahoma University and enjoyed watching sports with her family. She loved music, singing and will be remembered as always having a smile on her face. Her faith was important to her and she was active at the Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.
Joanne is survived by her children, Cheryl (Rick) Milasky, Diane (Keith) Johnson, Dawn(Paul) Sanford and Paul ( Tamara) Klinger, by her six grandchildren, Paul
(Danielle), Stephanie (Dane), Devin (Hailey), Brendon, Derek, and Kyle and seven great grandchildren, Riley, Isabella, Gabriella, Nathan, Jacob, Carter, and Ryker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Richard.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 from 9am until the time of the 10:30am service all at Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church- 10805 Main Street, Huntley, IL. The burial will be at St. Luke’s Cemetery in Chicago. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Your mom was a dear friend to my mom when she lived next door. They were always visiting. She would make the best sugar cookies always sending us home with plenty! Joanne had the best smile and was such a caring soul. My heart goes out to all of you. She sure loved her family.
Joanne and her lovely smile and graciousness will be greatly missed.

So sorry to hear. She and I always talked about getting together again, but it never happened. Happy times with our girls in Scouts and as couples when Paul was alive. Loved her and her hearty laugh. Our sincere sorrow and love to all the family.

So sorry to hear about Joanne. I worked with her at Schwinn, and saw that smile and heard that laugh every day! When I lived in Huntley, I stopped in to see her at Jewel a couple of times, still a Sweetheart.! Peace to all of Joanne's Family and Friends.
