Ronald Paul Frelk, 88, of Huntley, formerly of Kildeer, died peacefully on November 24, 2023, with his beloved wife by his side.
Ronald was born in Chicago on April 7, 1935, to parents Walter and Marie (nee Stark) Frelk. While working for the Chicago School District as a teacher, he met and fell in love with Mary Scarpetta who was working as the school nurse, and the couple were married in 1973. Ronald then went on to become a school psychologist. He enjoyed classical music and when he was younger, he enjoyed playing the clarinet. Ronald was a skilled woodworker and an excellent chef. He and Mary loved to host holidays and dinner parties, and he loved to cook for his family and friends. He was kind and gentle man who will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
Ronald is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Mary Frelk, his sister, Muriel Christensen, his sister-in-law, Kathi Frelk, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Dean Frelk and Diane (Marshall) Rife, and his brother-in-law, Erik Christensen.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 5, 2023, from 9 a.m. to time of mass 10 a.m. all at St. Mary Church, 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley.
Entombment to follow at 1 p.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Palatine.
