We give our deepest condolences to the family. Our prayers are with all of you .
It is such a great loss for the Fiedler family. May you be comforted by one another. Steve Eder is my brother in law and I know he lived Rory like a brother. His light will be missed.
At the age of 5 yrs old we met in the alley of 4439 N. Hamilton. We did everything together, made go carts, paper routes, shared meals. Couple of years later, Rory's house was the house of the future in 1969. having the first A.C in the entire house, first Microwave, central Vacuum, intercom system. We got into much mischief, mostly harmless and teased his siblings. I could probably write a book about our adventures. I was at his house more than mine. One of the reasons my childhood memories was great was because of him. Thank you my sweet friend Friend, I Love you, Scott

What a truly amazing person Rory was. He touched the lives of EVERYONE he met. There was not another person on this earth like him. It was my pleasure and honor to have known and worked with Rory. My heart goes out to his family and loved ones.

Our sincere condolences for your loss. May God bless and keep you during this time of healing.
I was at the very lowest point in my life when I moved into an apartment in Ravenswood Manor that happened to be directly across the street from Rory and then wife, Karen. I've often felt since then, that there was a reason our paths intersected. Rory seemed spontaneous, joyful, and generous in a way I couldn't be and he and Karen wouldn't take no for an answer in their efforts to push me forward, out of my despair. He was kooky and compassionate...qualities not easily coexistent. But they coexisted beautifully within him. When I met and decided to cohabitate with the man who became my husband (of 25 years now), Rory celebrated this step forward by offering an apartment to us in the building which had become his newest renovation project. He and Karen lived upstairs. He continued to share that openness and optimism of his through our typically daily contact. He was there when I learned my father had died suddenly in his sleep...and once again, demonstrated compassion and steadfastness, these having become his central qualities in my estimation, qualities I'd come to depend on. Over the decades, as life will do to people, we'd mostly lost touch but for the occasional unexpected visit (which I loved). I am saddened to hear we've lost him--"we", meaning the world.
Our sincere condolences for your loss. May God bless and keep you during this time of healing.
My heart is broken for all of you and for me too. He was not only my nephew but also my Godson (first one for me). He was loved by me and so many others. and will sorely missed. Rest in peace Rory, some day we will meet again.
I just heard about Rory’s passing and I felt so sad. Rory helped us buy our home in April 2020. We were so grateful to him and I thought of him often as we settled into our beautiful bungalow. May his memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved him.
My sincere condolences to Rory's family. Rory was my real estate agent and helped me buy my first condo. He was great to work with and was a genuine and honest person. I am very sad to learn about his untimely passing.
