Steven C. Ackmann, 63, of Hampshire, died December 6, 2023.
Steven was born March 6, 1960, the son of David and Justine Ackmann. He worked as a boiler maker and a welder. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved hanging out with his two hunting dogs. Steve loved to cook, spend time up at the lake and his greatest joy was spoiling his grandchildren. He was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his mother, Justine Ackmann, his sons, Jason Ackmann, and Cody (Kailey) Ackmann, daughter-in-law, Beth Ackmann, by his three grandchildren, Logan, Leah, and Owen and by his brother, Douglas (Carmel) Ackmann and by his Aunt Sandy McCarty. He was preceded in death by his father, David and by his son, Kevin.
Visitation will be Monday, December 11, 2023, from 3 p.m. to time of service 7 p.m. all at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.

Justine I know I saw you at the wake this evening, and still want to express my deepest sympathy to you and all your family of the loss of your beloved son, Steve. My heart and prayers are with you and all your family during this tragic loss. I will miss Steve Very much too and he will always be remembered and very much missed by me. I’m thankful to know he’s in heaven in his new body and with Jesus forever.
