Edward “Ted” Parker Neale died peacefully on Tuesday, December 12, in his home in Lake in the Hills, IL, under Hospice care, after a three-year fight with duodenal/lung cancer.
He was born in Bridgeport, CT, on August 10, 1946, to parents H. Edward and Grace (nee Parker) Neale. He married Marilyn Gregoire on September 9, 1989 in Elk Grove Village, IL, and they have been married for 34 wonderful years.
He attended Roger Ludlowe High School, Fairfield, CT, graduating in 1964. Following, he attended Bryant University, Smithfield, RI, majoring in Marketing/Sales. His very successful career included employment with pressure valve manufacturing companies: Dresser Industries, Chicago, IL; FMC Corporation, Boston, MA; Clark-Reliance, Strongsville, OH; and Farris Engineering, Brecksville, OH. He was highly regarded, well-respected, and admired during his tenure at each of these outstanding companies. He was also a Distinguished Member of the American Boiler Manufacturers Association (ABMA).
As for his zest for life, it was unending. He was a devout and faithful Christian, loving his God/Lord with all his heart. Ted loved his family and friends dearly. He was very kind, gentle, extremely intelligent, friendly, compassionate, and generous in every part of his being. He never met a stranger, had a great sense of humor, and was loved by many.
His passions with regard to enjoying life to the fullest were: travel (including cruising), golf, sailing, beaches, worship, entertaining, dancing, singing (member of barbershop and folk groups), skiing, pets, reading, volunteering, and watching sports of any kind.
Ted is survived by his beloved wife, Marilyn Neale; his children Elizabeth Neale, Gregory (Caroline) Neale, and Heather Bundgaard; his grandchildren Alexander, Matthew, John (Jack), and Grace; and his sister, Margaret (Robert) Ready. He is also survived by his former wife, Carla Neale.
Ted was preceded in death by his Father, Mother and Sister, Janet Neale.
Visitation will by Wednesday, December 27, 2023, from 10:00 AM to time of service 11:00 AM, all at Light of Christ Lutheran Church, 1700 Longmeadow Parkway, Algonquin.
