Mary Jane White, 76, of Huntley, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2023 at JourneyCare in Barrington. Jane was born May 26, 1947 in Cleveland, Ohio to parents William and Gertrude Rice. She married her high school sweetheart Roger White on January 7, 1967. They would have celebrated 57 years together in January. Jane and Roger moved to Cary, Illinois in 1980. Roger and Jane joined Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church where they became instrumental in the PreCana program through the Diocese of Rockford and where they also helped start the Engaged Couples Marriage Prep Program where they assisted many couples in navigating the many trials, tribulations and life events through faith. Jane decided to venture into the working world in 1985, and in 1990 she became the manager of The Pear Tree Gift Shop at Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington. She was very proud of her contributions to the shop, combining her favorite things - shopping and decorating. She was known for her beautiful holiday window displays.
After she retired in 2000, they moved to Huntley, Illinois.
Jane is survived by her husband, Roger of Huntley, daughters Paulette White of McHenry and Trish (Warren) Carter of Pingree Grove, sister Barbara Kaczor of Lake In The Hills, grandchildren Samantha (Joe) Burke of McHenry, Megan (Dan) Grisse-Taylor of San Diego, CA, Taylor (Zach) Vick of Pingree Grove, and Bradley (Victoria) Carter of Mooresville, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Nancy Lowrey, brother in law John Kaczor, sister in law Patricia White, and great granddaughter Madelyn Elizabeth Burke.
The family would like to thank TLC, especially Reese and Kailey for the loving care they provided Jane over the last few months.
