Alex M. Alexeyuk, 96, of McHenry, IL, passed away on December 27, 2023. Alex was born in Chicago, IL, on June 9, 1927. He married his high school sweetheart, Jean (nee Loderhose) and together they raised their three daughters. Alex is survived by his children Ann Marie Boer and Judy (Tom) Smith. He was preceded in death by his wife Jean, daughter Cathy Britton and son-in-law Michael Boer.
Alex was fortunate enough to find love again. In 1990 he married Sophie Miskovetz (nee Grigorik) and they spent their retirement years traveling together. Winter months were spent in Sarasota, FL. Alex is survived by his loving wife Sophie and her children, Diane (Michael) Lovda, Nadine (Ronald Gasior) Miskovetz, Patti (Rodney Kiolbassa) Miskovetz, Steven (Lisa) Miskovetz, Janice (Howard) Donnally, and 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Alex was a carpenter and contractor by trade. He was a long-time member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Crystal Lake. He had a passion for gardening and investing. His green thumb was evident, he had a vegetable garden his entire life, right up until his passing.
Visitation is December 29, 2023, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., memorial service to follow, at DeFiore Funeral Home, Huntley, IL. Interment will be at McHenry County Memorial Park, Woodstock, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the charity of your choice.
