Linda Hays

Obituary

Linda S. Hays, 83, of Huntley, passed away on December 21, 2023. Linda was born on December 28, 1940, in Quincy, Illinois to parents Howard and Helen (Floy) Hays. Linda then moved to Denver, Colorado where she taught as an elementary school teacher for thirty plus years. Teaching was Linda’s passion and love. She enjoyed putting together bulletin boards for her class and the school, especially when it was around Christmas time. Christmas was Linda’s favorite holiday. Eventually Linda worked her way up in the school system and became the vice principal. Linda was kindhearted and a social butterfly. She always wanted to lend a helping hand and be involved with whatever activity or project that was going on in her life. Linda had mastered the art of playing bridge and enjoyed reading. Her and her friends had a book club that Linda actively participated in. Those who knew Linda will miss her dearly.
Linda is survived by her loving sister Beth (Michael) Mallen, her nephew David Mallen and great nephews J.P. and Tommy Mallen.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents Howard and Helen (Floy) Hays.

Beth and Family, Linda was my little sister in Tri Sigma sorority. We met at Colorado State College, now University of Northern Colorado. She was such a good friend, I only wish we had lived closer so we could have spent more time together. Linda was a wonderful person. My deepest sympathy is with you. Ann Gilmore

Linda was in my initiation class for Tri-sigma at Colorado State College, graduating together in 1962. Living in t sorority house gave us many opportunities to talk, have fun, and sometimes get into mischief! We had talked occasionally after she left Denver. May you find comfort in May lifetime memories and the promise of salvation. MaryFran Asmus
