Teresa Goerlitz, 85, of Huntley, died peacefully on December 29, 2023.
Teresa was born October 15, 1938, the daughter of Santago Rosa and Abrahana Jimenez in Puerto Rico. On January 6, 1962 she married Clifford Goerlitz. Teresa was raised by nuns in Puerto Rico and moved to the United States when she was 18 years old. She was always singing and dancing in the kitchen. She was the Zumba Queen and was doing Zumba until she was eighty-two. She loved her children and her yorkies which she raised all of her life. Teresa enjoyed raising her family and was loved by everyone.
She is survived by her children Betty (Carlos) McNeil-Pedroza, Sherry Goerlitz, Rick (Debbie) Goerlitz, ,her grandchildren Amanda, Natalie, Ryan, Shane, Adam, Courtney along with her great-grandchildren Jackson, Adonis, Olivia, Gigi, Brooks, and Daphne. And by her siblings,Pepe (deceased), Blanca, Angel,
Luis. Carmen, Miguel, Santiago,
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 9am until the time of the 10am Mass at St. Mary Catholic Church-10307 Dundee Road, Huntley.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Heather's Senior Living Home in Lake in the Hills, for equipment for the residents.
