Steven Krocka

Obituary

Steven Charles Krocka, 73, of South Elgin, died peacefully on January 3, 2024, at Northwestern Hospital in Huntley.

Steven was born in Chicago on May 5, 1950, to parents Charles and Olga (nee Nosko) Krocka. He was a proud father and grandfather and a loving son, brother, and friend. Strong and sentimental, Steven cared for his family and worked hard to ensure they were cared for. He loved to tell stories, sometimes long ones, and enjoyed music. In his youth, he was a member of the Luther North Singers and in his adulthood, he was an avid singer to the radio in his car. Steven will be missed dearly by those who knew him.

Steven prided his days working for Illinois Bell and concluding with AT&T, a career spanning 43 years from a PBX installer to management in Installation & Maintenance, Construction, and Engineering. He considered his coworkers as extended family on and off the clock. He was a proud supporter of the Lions Club in South Elgin and was an auxiliary member of the West Dundee VFW.

Steven is survived by his children, Eric (Julie Camaro) Krocka, Jaclyn (Nathan) Schultz, and Scott (Kristine) Krocka; his sister, Carole Christensen; and his grandchildren, Alexandria, Tyler, Azura, Katalina, Zach, Kaitlyn, Braden, Robert, Emma, and Laura.

To celebrate his life, there will be a viewing and concluding service on Monday, January 8, 2024, from 2 p.m. to time of service 5 p.m. at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Steven’s name can be made to the Lions Club of South Elgin and the West Dundee VFW.
