Christine S. Jakubczak, 79, of Huntley, died January 27, 2024 with her family by her side.
Christine was born February 23, 1944 in Chicago, the daughter of Stanley and Sophie Novak. On October 30, 1965 she married her high school sweetheart Jerome J. Jakubczak. She worked for Walgreens but then went on to spend 32 years providing home childcare. She was strong-willed and the matriarch of the family. Family was her core, spending time with her children and grandchildren always brought her joy. She was an avid Bears and Cubs fan and loved watching her grandchildren’s sporting events. Chris was an amazing baker. She was known to enjoy a game of Bingo and of course slot machines. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry, her children, Paul (Kerri) Jakubczak, Pam (Bob) Keaty, Cindy (Tom) Lis, by her eleven grandchildren, Kayla (Matt), Kollin, Ben, Alyssa, Matt, Sean, Danny, Angelica (Al), Tommy, Amelia and Cameron, she is also survived by her siblings, Gene (Joan) Novak, Lenny Novak, and Monica (Joe) Wilson and by many nieces and nephews. The visitation will be on Friday, February 2, 2024 from 4-7pm at DeFiore Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10am on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at St. Mary Catholic Church-10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to American Cancer Society or The Leukemia and Lymphoma Association.
