Joan Pearl Miller, 93, of Huntley, died peacefully on February 29, 2024, at AccentCare Hospice in Naperville.
Joan was born in Chicago on April 26, 1930, to parents Edward and Jennie (nee Benczkowski) Majewski. She married James Robert Miller on January 6, 1968, and the couple were happily married for 25 years until his death on June 25, 1992. Together Joan and James loved to travel and spent lots of time on many trips and cruises. They were devout Green Bay Packers fans and had season tickets, going to many games over the years.
Joan loved to sing and was a member of the choir at St. Raymond Church in Mount Prospect and the Sun City Prairie Singers in Huntley. Joan especially loved her family, and nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her nieces and nephews. She loved having them over and taking them to the city for dinners downtown. She was a generous woman who will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
Joan is survived by her sister, Patricia Thomas, her nieces and nephews, Susan (Dale) Gregory, Steven (Jeanne) Thomas, Patrick (Alice) Thomas, Michael (Joanne) Thomas, Daniel (Cindy) Thomas, and Karen (Stanley) Ciesielczyk, her 12 great nieces and nephews, and her 9 great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Miller.
