Robert “Bob” Anthony Kolasa, 85, of Huntley, died peacefully on March 2, 2024, at Melody Living in Lake in the Hills.
Bob was born in Chicago on July 12, 1938, to parents Walter and Stella (nee Wojcik) Kolasa. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and then went into printing. He loved pickleball and golfing, and especially enjoyed driving the golf cart. Bob waited his whole life to meet his true love and finally did at a 4th of July party. He married Eve Nelms on May 23, 2004, and the couple spent many wonderful years together. Bob was incredibly friendly and aways offered a smile and a wave. He loved sitting in the sun and greatly enjoyed spending time at his home in Arizona. He could often be found helping around the house and in the yard. He was a kind man who didn’t have a mean bone in his body. Bob was a wonderful caretaker for his family and will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 20 years, Eve Kolasa, Eve’s children, Michele Riedl, Jeffrey (Katie King) Lipson, Julie (Travis Tresnit) Lipson, and Dana (Jack) Cohen, his seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and his dog, Jasmine.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Edward (Alice) Kolasa, Lorraine (Ray) Tusinski, and Henry (Pat) Kolasa.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 10, 2024, from 1 p.m. to time of prayers 3 p.m. all at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.
Burial will be private for family only.
