Bonnie Crane, 73, of Huntley, died peacefully in her home after a courageous fight with cancer on March 9, 2024.
She was born on November 10, 1950, in Attleboro, MA, and was the daughter of Leo and Phyllis McCann.
On July 19, 1997, she married the love of her life, Robert Crane who showered her with love and affection every day.
She fought cancer and all of the illnesses that came along with it for nearly 10 years with grit, determination, courage, and grace.
She was famous for having the most beautiful gardens and loved spending time planting, and watching the hummingbirds and butterflies visit. When she wasn’t outdoors gardening you would find her decorating for the next season, baking her famous apple pie, and simply visiting with friends and family. Even through her illness, she was able to complete her lifelong dream of traveling to Ireland this past September.
Bonnie was a loving wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband, Robert Crane, and her children; James (Jessica) Seguin, Catherine (John) Geronimo, Kristie (Pat Chan) Crane, and Melinda Crane. Her grandchildren; Eliot, Emma, and Gabriella. Siblings; David (Gail) McCann, Marilyn (Rick) Millette, Doreen (Art) King, and Marjorie McCann. She is also survived by her puppy, Annie.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the team at JourneyCare Hospice of Barrington who helped care for Bonnie and her family.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, from 11am until 1pm with a prayer service being held at 1pm at DeFiore Funeral Home -10763 Dundee Road, Huntley, IL 60142.

I miss you immensely Mom. I can hear you with the spring birds chirping and I see you in the flowers that are starting to pop up. Rest easy and I will see you again one day.
You will be greatly missed at our neighborhood lunches! I'll miss sharing flower tips and marveling at how beautiful your yard is looking. Peace and comfort to you in our Father's arms.
Bonnie, you were one of the strongest women I have ever known. It was something to look up to and aspire to be. Thank you for loving my dad so much. You made him so incredibly happy. I’ll miss you giving me a hard time about my hatred for olives. It always made me laugh. And i’ll forever have the image of you running down my street after you touched the black angel statue and it lit up and freaked you out. We laughed so hard! Or when we were dancing to “Paradise by the dashboard light” and i wiped out. you paused and asked if i was okay and when i said yes, you said “Good cause that was really funny!” and we both cracked up. You definitely knew how to have a good time. I’m gonna miss you a lot.
We have some of the fondest memories with you while living in Cary. I will always remember you inviting the kids over for cider and treats around Halloween time. All the love you put into your delicious apple pies, and your lovely garden. You always made us feel so special. We will treasure our memories with you always.
We will never forget our get-togethers with her while we lived close to her in Cary. She always welcomed our son Thorsten to her house to be with Jim. She will not be forgotten. Ozr condolences to the family.
