Jin Mei Lin, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, peacefully passed away on March 7, 2024, at the age of 81 after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. He was surrounded by his family at JourneyCare Hospice in Barrington Hills.
Born on June 27, 1942, in Changle, Fujian China, Jin Mei was the son of Mo Mo Lin and Zhuoxian Zhou. He worked as a farmer and later immigrated to the United States in 2002 to be with his sons and grandchildren in the Crystal Lake area. Jin Mei found joy in singing, reading the newspaper, and gardening during the spring and summer. His family, especially his children and grandchildren, were his greatest pride.
Jin Mei is survived by his loving wife of over 56 years, Zhen Zhen Lin, his sons Kui Lin and Xiang Lin, their spouses Kun Ying Jiang and Xiao Rong Chen, and his cherished grandchildren Jia Lin, Chaofan Botta (Vincent Botta), Kelsey Lin, Connie Lin, Christina Lin, Ryan Lin, and Katie Lin. Jin Mei was predeceased by his parents and older brother Mei Ge Lin. Jin Mei was the pillar of his family and will be remembered for his work ethic, selflessness and dedication to his family.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, March 19th, from 6-8pm, followed by a memorial service on Wednesday from 8:30-10:00am both at Defiore Funeral Home located at 10763 Dundee-Huntley Road, Huntley, IL 60142. Jin Mei will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
