Barbara A. Wrzala, 74 of Huntley, passed away at her home surrounded by family on Wednesday morning, September 4, 2013.
She was born October 3, 1938 in Chicago, the daughter of Sigmond and Celia (Jankowski) Wozniak. She was raised and educated in Chicago, graduating from Tuley High School. She was united in marriage to Richard J. Wrzala on February 8, 1958. The couple lived in Virginia and Cuba for a time while Richard served in the United States Navy. They then moved to Elgin, where she worked for Visa/Mastercard and later in medical records for Sherman Hospital for over 20 years. In 2001 they moved to Sun City, Huntley. Barbara was active in St. Mary Church both in Elgin and Huntley, enjoyed participating in a number of clubs at Sun City and especially liked to travel, take bus trips and spend time in Arizona.
She is survived by her sons, Rick (Karen) Wrzala of Elk Grove Village, Keith (Theresa) Wrzala of Hampshire, her grandchildren, Stephen, Scott, Madeleine & Matthew, her sister, Dorothy Settanni of Elgin, her sister-in-law, Arlene Wozniak of Huntley and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard this past December and her brother, Thomas.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Mass at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2013 all at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. Inurnment will be in St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Sorry to hear of Barbara's passing. Barbara was a past participant in my line dance classes at Del Webb. I could see how much she loved to dance and loved coming to my classes by her willingness to want to learn the dances. She was so cute.
