Charles “Chuck” J. Abbott, Jr., 79, of Hampshire, died peacefully on April 11, 2024, in Elk Grove Village.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. all at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.
Mass will be Thursday, April 18, 2024, at 10 a.m. with a visitation the hour prior, all at St. Mary Church, 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley.
Chuck was born in Chicago on September 5, 1944, to parents Charles J. and Ruth (nee Wright) Abbott, Sr. He married Angela Wrzosek on October 9, 1965, and the couple was happily married until her death on February 22, 2019. Chuck worked hard to provide for his family and was a skilled ceramic tile setter. He enjoyed bowling, playing cards, woodworking, baseball, and having a drink with his friends. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and will be missed dearly by all who knew him, especially his dog, Rizzo.
Chuck is survived by his children, Kim Doherty, and Chuck (Tina) Abbott, his grandchildren, Riley, Danny, Cathryn, Chas, and Evelyn, and his sister, Charlene Hibsch.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Angela Abbott.

I first met Chuck at the dealership in Hampshire when he bought his first vehicle from me. He was a pleasure to chat with and was always talking about his kids or grand kids. Chuck will be missed by many. RIP sir! Respectfully, Steve.
