Stanley J. Kilian, 87, of Huntley, died peacefully, April 14, 2024 at his home with his family by his side.
Stanley was born March 30, 1937, the son of Stanley and Josephine (Gimza) Kilian. He served in the Army National Guard. On June 18, 1966, he married Marlene M. Mulzof. He worked in the printing industry. He was a self-taught musician and enjoyed playing the trumpet, guitar, and harmonica. Stanley was part of a Polish band. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and his model railroad trains. He was very devout and faithful. Stanley was a loving husband, father and papa who will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marlene Kilian, his daughters, Debra (Robert) Rakiel, Tracy (John) Fricke and by his two grandchildren, Lauren and Ryan.
Stanley was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother Lester (Celine) Kilian.
Visitation will be on Friday, April 19, 2024, from 4-8pm at DeFiore Funeral Home- 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. On Saturday, April 20, 2024, a visitation will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church starting at 9am and a Funeral Mass will be held at 10am- 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. The burial will be at Maryhill Cemetery in Niles. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children Research Hospital.

I have many good memories of Stan at the Polish Club. He and I would talk together about the old neighborhood, Milwaukee Avenue, Old Polish Broadway. He will be missed.
