Giuseppe Meschino, 79, of Huntley, formerly of Hoffman Estates, died April 25, 2024.
Giuseppe Meschino was born June 11, 1944 in Termini Imerese, Italy, the son of Mario and Assunta (Zammuto) Meschino.
Always looking for an adventure, Giuseppe moved to Germany at the age of 16, where he worked for Volkswagen. Upon returning to Italy, he served in the Italian military and on April 27, 1970, he married his best friend Francesca Mangione, whom he had known since childhood. He and Francesca moved to the United States shortly after they were married. Giuseppe worked as a corporate executive chauffeur for an architectural firm in Chicago for over 20 years. He and his wife then owned and operated Meschino’s Ristorante in Arlington Heights, before he returned to work as a chauffeur and security detail for a four star general and later for the Japanese Consulate – the latter from which he retired to take on the role of doting Nonno.
Throughout his life Giuseppe was always active and enjoyed running, biking, and earned his black belt with Illinois Shotokan Karate Clubs. His caring heart of gold and his desire to take care of others – including so many stray animals he adopted - was evident by anyone who ever was offered and accepted a loaf of his homemade bread. He was a devoted, loving, and caring, husband, father, Nonno and friend who will be terribly missed by all who were lucky to meet him.
Giuseppe is survived by his beloved wife, Francesca, by his daughters, Assunta (Brian) Bilderback, Carmela (Tony) Martinez and Adriana (Vito) Novielli, by his six grandchildren, Adriana, Erica, Anthony, Autumn, Abigail, and Alyssa and by his endlessly spoiled pup Daisy. He is survived by his siblings, Luigi, Salvatore, and Lucia (Francesco) Gallegra, by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
