Obituary

Donald Francis Wyatt, Sr., 87, of Huntley, died peacefully on May 16, 2024, at JourneyCare Barrington.
Don was born in Chicago on August 8, 1936, to parents Harold and Dorothy (nee Tochterman) Wyatt. He married Mary Tschuor on November 28, 1959, and together the couple raised their three children. Don was a skilled mechanical engineer and worked for Hill Mechanical Group for 32 years prior to his retirement. He was also a proud member of ASHRAE for 25 years. Don and Mary moved to Huntley in 1999 and are parishioners of St. Mary Church. He enjoyed baseball and could often be found cheering for the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago White Sox, as well as the Chicago Bears. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Don will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

Don is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Mary Wyatt, his children, Debra (Robert) King, Donald (Tracy) Wyatt, Jr., and Patricia (Scott) Bussert, his grandchildren, Bobby, Matthew (Alex), Becky, Scott, Kayla, Ryan, Kelly, Kevin, and Brendan, his great-granddaughter, Sarah Jane, his siblings, James (the late Martha Ann) Wyatt, and Robert (Marie) Wyatt, his sister-in-law, Nancy (the late John) Wyatt, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, George (Rita) Wyatt, and John Wyatt, and his sister-in-law, Martha Ann Wyatt.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 21, 2024, from 4 p.m. to time of prayers 6:30 p.m. all at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.
Mass will be Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at 10 a.m. with a visitation the hour prior, all at St. Mary Church. 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital https://www.stjude.org/
