Leroy A. Schuetz, 90, of Huntley, died peacefully at his home surrounded by his family.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00pm at DeFiore Jorgensen Funeral Home -10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. Mass will be 10:00am Friday with visitation from 9:00 to 10:00am all at St. Mary Catholic Church-10307 Dundee Road. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Mary Catholic Church, Huntley or Journeycare Hospice of Barrington.
Leroy was born February 2, 1925 in Morton Grove, Illinois the son of Peter and Lona (Dahm) Schuetz. On October 26, 1946 he married Lorraine Didier. He worked as a farmer, milkman and later as a salesman of Mack Trucks. Leroy was active member of St. Mary Church in Buffalo Grove as a member of the Holy Name Society. In 2000 he and Lorraine made their home in Sun City and he became active in many clubs and organizations. He loved dancing, golfing, fishing, hunting, archery, biking and taking his family on vacations and camping trips.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Lorraine, his eight children, Roy (Linda) Schuetz, JoAnn (Dick) Robuck, Linda (Bill) Stemmermann, Mark (Linda) Schuetz, Judy (Tom) Rudolph, Bruce (Kris) Schuetz, Laura (Mike) Meyer and Steve (Kimberly) Schuetz. He is also survived by his 24 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. He is survived by his brothers, Howard (Joann) Schuetz, Jerry (Judy)Schuetz, Laurence (Mary) and by his sister, Marion Kilgore.
He is preceded in death by his brothers, Hank, Arthur, James and Peter and by his sisters, Agnes and Dorothy.

My brother Ralph and I send our thoughts and prayers to the Schuetz family. We have many fond memories of visits to their home when we were very young. Leroys father and our mother were brother and sister. May God comfort you.
