Rollo V. Dace, 90, of Cary, died peacefully May 24, 2024.
Rollo was born July 28, 1933 in Chicago, the son of Rollo and Cecelia Dace. He proudly served in the United States Coast Guard. On May 30, 1959 he married Darlene Rose Siman. He worked as a broker. Rollo was proud of his Italian heritage. He was an avid golfer and was a fan of the Chicago Cubs. Rollo was larger than life and could light up a room and was an incredible man. He was meticulous about how he looked; he took great pride in working outside making sure there was not a dandelion to be found. He was devoted in his faith, was always welcoming, and truly found joy in everything that he did. His greatest joy was his family, and nothing brought him more joy than being with his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene “Del” Dace, his children, Stephen Dace, and Darla (Anthony) Bogumill, by his grandchildren, Tiffani, Ashley (Mark), Austin and Cassie, by his brother, Lionel (Donna) Dace and sister, Michele Harris by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Rollo was preceded in death by his parents and by his son, Daniel Dace.
Visitation will be on Thursday, May 30, 2024 from 4-7pm at DeFiore Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. A second visitation will be on Friday at 9am at the funeral home. A Mass will be celebrated at 10am on May 31, 2024 10am at St. Mary Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Catholic Charities.
