Margaret “Peg” Nowak, 74, of Huntley, died peacefully, June 1, 2024.
Margaret was born August 19, 1949, the daughter of Claude and Margaret Reckamp. On July 2, 1977 she married Edward Nowak. Peg was a special education teacher for over forty years. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards with her siblings and was known to visit a casino once in a while. Her greatest joy was her children and grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Kristofer (Danielle) Nowak, Kelli Nowak, and Patricia (Jeffrey) Prosser, by her five grandchildren, Caroline, James, Parker, Cole, and Haley. She is also survived by her siblings Tom (Linda) Reckamp, Melvin (Patricia) Reckamp and Ruthie (Ken) Conter.
Peg was preceded in death by her husband, Edward,Infant son, Nicholas Nowak, , siblings, Herbert (Geraldine) Reckamp, Kenneth (Ottoline) Reckamp, Florence (John) Horcher, Elaine (John) Kamis, Alice, Robert (Paula) Reckamp, Norma (George) Laken, Allan (Jean) Reckamp, and Wayne (Monica) Reckamp.
Visitation will be on Thursday, June 6, 2024 from 3-7pm at DeFiore Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 7, 2024 11:00am at St. Mary Catholic Church-227 Monee Road, Park Forest, IL. The burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Calumet City.
