Obituary

Janet Lee Burak, 80, of Algonquin, died peacefully, July 5, 2024.
Janet was born February 9, 1944 in Chicago, the daughter of Harry and Cecilia Henout. On February 29, 1964 she married her high school sweetheart, Stephen Burak. The couple enjoyed sixty years of marriage.
Janet was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She always enjoyed caring for and spending time with her family. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and arts and crafts. Her family fondly remembers her as the nicest person one could ever meet.
She is survived by her husband, Stephen Burak, sons, David Burak, Danial (Sonia) Burak, granddaughters, Breanna, and Britteny Burak and by her twin sister, Barbara (Leonard) Hofmann.
A visitation will be held on Friday, July 12 from 4-7pm at DeFiore Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024 10am at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Palatine.

Janet was our friend for 50 years and she will be remembered by us as such a kind and loving person. She never had a harsh word for anyone and made the world a better placement by her presence. She will be greatly missed.
