Obituary

Patty A. Blakely, 69, of Huntley, died peacefully July 18, 2024 with her family by her side.
Patty was born July 24, 1954, the daughter of Herbert and Ruth Pflueger. On November 14, 1981 she married Johnston R. Blakely III. She graduated from Elgin High School in 1972 and went on to work at Sherman Hospital as the Information Coordinator, and she was the comptroller of JRB Calibration a business her and John owned and operated and later worked for Snap-On in the accounting department. While her sons were growing up Patty was active in Boy Scouts and helped both of her sons achieve Eagle Scout.
Patty had an infectious smile and laugh that could light up a room. She was a people person and had always been there to help anyone. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially streams and mountains. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Johnston R. Blakely III โ€œJohn,โ€ her sons, Richard J. Blakely, and Ryan W. Blakely and by her beloved granddaughter, Arrow Ruth Blakely. She was also survived by her brother, Craig Pflueger and by many nieces and nephews.
Patty was preceded in death by her parents, and brother Gary Pflueger.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 28, 2024 from 2-5pm at DeFiore Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. A Funeral service will be held 11am on Monday, July 29, 2024 at Light of Christ Lutheran Church- 1700 Longmeadow Pkwy, Algonquin, IL 60102. The burial will be in Bluff City Cemetery in Elgin. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Operation Underground Railroad https://ourrescue.org/

Iโ€™m so sad to hear of Patty passing away. Yet, I have such great memories of her smile and her giggle and all of the camping and campfire and boating that we enjoyed for many years. We have another angelโ€ฆโ€ฆ.. she will be missed.
