Elizabeth Anne “Lizanne” Lawson, 81, of Huntley, died peacefully July 18, 2024 with her family by her side.
Lizanne was born April 26, 1943, the daughter of Joseph and Margaret (Garrity) Burton. She was raised in Chicago in an Irish Catholic family. She worked for American Airlines until her retirement. While at American she met her husband, Roger Lawson; the couple married on October 18, 1991. She enjoyed traveling, fishing with her husband Roger, entertaining family and friends. She was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her sisters, Margaret Mary (Thomas) Bedgood, Eileen (John) Donahugh, and Mary Therese (William) Martin, by her nieces and nephews, Emily (Thomas) English, Edward (Kristen) Donahugh, William Martin, and Kathleen (Shane Tucci) Martin. By her great nieces and nephews, McKenzie, Elliot, Grace and Joseph and she is also survived by her beloved dog, Molly.
Visitation will be on Thursday, July 25, 2024 from 4-7pm at DeFiore Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, 10am at St. Mary Catholic Church-10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. The burial will be at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital.
