Louise Marie Callahan, 77 of Sun City, Huntley, passed away on Monday morning, September 16, 2013 following a lengthy illness.
She was born August 15, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Sylvin and Louise (Kuper) Ziegenhorn. She was united in marriage to William J. Callahan on November 10, 1956. The couple made their home in Chicago and later Hanover Park where they raised their family before moving to Schaumburg. Louise had worked with children most of her life from assisting with necessary duties at a daycare to being a cashier in the cafeteria for Schaumburg School District #211. Family was the center of her life and she could be found attending any and all of her children’s and grandchildren’s activities. She loved spending time in Door County with her husband, enjoyed dancing, was extremely outgoing and a very social person. The couple moved to Huntley in 2003.
Louise is survived by her husband, William of Huntley, her sons, William (Dorita) Callahan Jr. of Lawrenceburg, Indiana, Timothy (Tammy) Callahan of Algonquin, Patrick (Suzanna) Callahan of Huntley, her daughter, Janine (Steven) Kaminski of Schaumburg, her grandchildren, Brianna, Caitlin, Colleen, Elizabeth, Amy, Daniel, Shannon, Teigan, Kevin, Noah, Justin & Kaci, her great-grandchildren, Will, Lili, Caiden, Sean, Avery, Kara & Kinleigh, her sister, Arlene (Fred) Weppner of Sister Bay, Wisconsin & her brother, James (Carole) Ziegenhorn of Elmhurst. She was preceded in death by her son Daniel.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 19th at the DeFiore-Jorgensen Funeral & Cremation Service, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley and from 9:30 until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 20th at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. Burial will be at a later date in St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.

Uncle Bill and family, We are sad to hear of Aunt Louise's passing. She was a very warm and loving person and will be dearly missed.
