Mary E. Wickersham, 73, of Huntley, died peacefully on July 30, 2024.
Born on January 4, 1951, Mary was the beloved daughter of Richard and Kathryn Vandy. She married Donald Wickersham on June 19, 1971, and they enjoyed 53 wonderful years of marriage. Mary will be remembered for her kindness, sweetness, and selfless nature. Her creativity was evident in her crafting, quilting, tap dancing with the Hoofers and Hunks, and various other activities. Her radiant smile, sparkling blue eyes, and warm hugs could light up any room. Mary and Don cherished their travels and the time spent with family.
Mary is survived by her loving husband, Donald Wickersham; her children, Jenny (Dave) Dillow, Andy (Kelly) Wickersham, Michael (Heather) Wickersham, and Megan (Christiaan) La Masney; her grandchildren, Hayley, Emily, Abigale, Cole, Michael ll, and Annabelle; her siblings, Susan Sgrignoli, Kathy Goski, Judy (John) Nelson, and Barb (Biff) Mohr; as well as many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with a time of sharing at 1:00 p.m., at DeFiore Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. Memorials may be made in Mary's name to the Alzheimer's Association, https://www.alz.org/.

I had a lot of fun with Mary in our tap dancing class annd shows. We learned so much in embroidery club and quilt guilt. She had a great sense of humor. We did a lot of laughing. She was very dear person and very talented and creative. God be with all the family.
