Durwood “Woody” Drydale, 80, of Huntley, died peacefully, July 29, 2024.
Durwood was born June 29, 1944 the son of Durwood and Minna Drydale. On November 13, 1965 he married Mary Elwell.
Woody worked in HVAC, was an avid fisherman, enjoyed old westerns, woodworking and traveling. Woody and Mary enjoyed traveling on many tours all over the country and many cruises. They especially liked the cruises to Alaska and the Panama Canal.
He had a great sense of humor even till the end. He and his son-in-law enjoyed building and flying model airplanes. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his daughters, Pamela Drydale and Melissa Klemencic, his two grandchildren, Samuel, and Chris and by his sister-in-law, Debbie Pieters and brother-in-law, Ben Elwell. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 10, 2024 from 9am until 10:00am with a service beginning at 10am all at DeFiore Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley, IL. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Peter Lutheran Church- Dundee Township.
