Obituary

Donna Anne Rankin, 75, died peacefully July 24, 2024 at her home in Addison with her family by her side.

On May 6, 1949 she was born in Chicago, the daughter of Martin and Leona (Markoff) Potucek.

She graduated from Luther North High School and worked as a waitress and bakery manager. Donna enjoyed time with family, travel, crocheting and time with her cats, Buddy, and Lulu. Donna was a hard worker and always worked hard to provide for her children. She had an amazing smile that could light up a room. She was a loving mother, sister, and grandmother who will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Roy (Michelle) Rankin, Kim (Steve) Bonnichsen, Grandchildren, Kristen, Shonna, Kylie, and Ashlyn. She is also survived by her brother, Marty Potucek, and sister, Sherry Schiyer.

Visitation will be on Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 12:15-1pm with a service at 1pm all at Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church in Huntley, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
