Bruce J. Hornickel, 82, of Huntley, died peacefully, August 23, 2024 with his family by his side.
Bruce was born August 9, 1942 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of Louis and Viola (Janke) Hornickel. On August 22, 1964 he married Beverly Caylor. He proudly served in the United States Army. He was a bank officer for over 30 years.
He was an avid reader and always enjoyed talking about history. He enjoyed golf, cards, and being in the water. Bruce was a Green Bay Packer and Badger fan. He was organized and detail orientated. Bruce was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Beverly Hornickel, his children, Michelle (Jens) Berg, Brian (Colleen) Hornickel, Daniel (Lori) Hornickel and Jason (Tery) Hornickel, and by his four grandchildren, Carly, Katy, Emma, and Zack. He was also survived by his beloved dog, Charlie. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother, William (Dolores) Hornickel.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024 from 4-7pm with a service at 7pm all at DeFiore Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
