Doyle P. Hammond, 87, of Huntley, died peacefully August 25, 2024.
Doyle was born March 18, 1937 in Illinois, the son of Charles and Katherine Hammond. He proudly served in the United States Navy. On July 24, 1957 he married Carolyn. He worked as a watch repairman and could fix anything. He always enjoyed being busy working on projects in his garage. Doyle was an avid Bear and Bulls fan. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Doyle was a true gentleman and was always kind.
Doyle is survived by his wife, Carolyn Hammond, his children, Beth (Robert) Klemm, Ron (Barbara) Hammond, and the late Keith Hammond.
By his grandchildren, Kristy, Nick, Katie, Grace and Julia,
great grandchildren, Alyssa, Alex, Jayden and Jason.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by his seven siblings.
Visitation will be on Thursday, August 29, 2024 from 12 -2pm with a service at 2pm at DeFiore Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. The burial will be in Huntley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Parkinson Association.
