Christine Frederick (nee Hurbanek), 80, of Cortland, Illinois passed away on Monday, August 26, 2024, at Alden in Huntley, Illinois.
She was born June 23, 1944, in New Brighton, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Steve and Irene (nee Venik) Hurbanek.
She was a loving wife and mother to her husband and two sons. She enjoyed leading and organizing her sons’ school events in the Parent/Teacher’s Group, while they were growing up at St. Mary’s Grade School and Quigley High School. In her later years, she enjoyed working as an Optician.
She is survived by her son, Douglas (Pamela) Frederick of Huntley, Illinois; her brother, Steve (Linda) Hurbanek of Southport, North Carolina; and her two grandchildren, Kiley and Blake Frederick of McHenry, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cornelius “Neil” Frederick, and son, Darrin Frederick.
A visitation will be held on Friday, August 30, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at DeFiore Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. A funeral Mass will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday at St. Mary Catholic Church at 10307 Dundee Road in Huntley.

Wife, of the late Darrin S. Frederick (son), mother of our children Kiley and Blake. The many memories that we had shared with the late Neil and Christine Frederick and my husband (son). I was so blessed to have been a part of their lives in so many beautiful ways not only with our children, holidays, weiner roast in Christine and Neil’s backyard but so much more. My condolences to my Brother in law Doug (son) in the loss of his mother and to my children Kiley and Blake. Always know nana will be watching out for you from above. Now, my children you have daddy, pap and nana as your guardian angels. I love you!
