Bruce Allen Abbott, 84, of Huntley, died peacefully September 17, 2024.
Bruce was born November 9, 1939 the son of Albert and Marie Abbott. He worked 32 years as an electrician for local International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, local #134. On December 12, 1992 he married his beloved Dorothy Rose Foreman. Together the couple enjoyed traveling with their motorhome and enjoyed many cruise excursions throughout their married life.
Bruce was active in the Sleepy Hollow Service Club. Bruce had a passion for vintage cars and participated in car shows winning several awards. His favorite vehicle was a 1982 red corvette. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather,and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Abbott, his children, Michael (Susan) Abbott, Ranae (Rick) Eugene, Thomas (Tracy) Abbott, Susan (Stephen) Kartman and Laura Foreman, by his grandchildren, Kenneth, Kathleen, Kortney, Ryan, Ross, Daniel, Timothy and JoAnna,Tasarla, Justin, Kyle, and Devereux, great grandchildren, Aric, Aria, John, Kane, Kali, Charlotte, Kora, Logan, Ryleigh, and Charlee Jo, . Bruce was preceded in death by his siblings, Janet, Ron, and Carol.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 23, 2024 from 12-3pm with prayers at 2:30pm all at DeFiore Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Parkinsons Foundation, https://www.parkinson.org/
