Philip L. Cummuta, 85, of Huntley, Illinois, was born October 22, 1938, the son of Leo and Jennie Cummuta, at rest the morning of September 28, 2024, surrounded by family and love. Survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Elizabeth 'Betty' (Dassie) Cummuta; loving father/dad/pops of Mark (Lisa) Cummuta, Lea Cummuta, Dana Rosenthal, Laura Gisleson and the late Anne Cummuta; proud grandfather of Anthony, Amber, Alexandria (Nathan), Daniel, Dominique, Ryan, Alec, Eli and Joshua; dear brother of Michael (Sandy), JoAnn (Vincent), and Robert. Retired computer programmer; avid chess and bridge player; board game lover; diehard Bears fan; avid reader of Sci-fi, Financial, Stock Trading, Chess and Bridge strategy books; and secretly loved the Hallmark channel and poetry (but we all knew).
Visitation will be held Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley, IL 60142. Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. - also at St. Mary Catholic Church. Internment at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Belmont and N Cumberland Avenue, River Grove, IL 60171. He will be laid to rest alongside his parents and grandparents.
