Edward J. Yurchik Sr. (89), of Huntley, IL passed away on October 2, 2024. Edward was born October 11, 1934, in Chicago, IL to Adolph Yurchik and Clara Zalinko. He married Mary DiNello on June 16, 1956, in Chicago, IL.
Edward served his country as a member of the Army Reserves. He worked in the food industry as a Manager and Salesman for 40 years. He was a Huntley resident for 22 years and a devoted parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. In his spare time, Edward enjoyed boating and fishing.He enjoyed helping people. He was a great husband, brother, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather and he will be forever missed.
Edward is survived by his beloved wife, Mary, his children, Linda (Jay) Luebking, Edward J. (Karen) Yurchik Jr, John E. (Mary Ellen) Yurchik, his sister, Marion Price, his grandchildren, Christine (Eric), Megan (Andy), Austin (Emma), Alexandria “Lexie”, and his great-grandchildren, Henry, Hannah, Auburn, and Anthony John “A.J.”.
Edward is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers-in-law, Richard Price, and Vincent DiNello.
Visitation will be held Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley, IL 60142. Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. - also at St. Mary Catholic Church. Internment at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Dean Street, Huntley, IL 60142. Mary and Family, please accept our most sincere condolences. Ed was one of the FIRST to move in on Cold Springs and the infamous "ALLEY". A stout friend and neighbor, he was there to help when somebody was needed. We will miss him and think about him often. May God Bless Him.
