Mary (Terri) Duda, 72, of Huntley, passed away on October 8, 2024.
Mary T. McKenna was born on December 16, 1951, to Thomas F. and Mary Ann (Conrad) McKenna. On July 1, 1972, she married Richard P. Duda, beginning a life together that spanned more than fifty years. Terri held various jobs, eventually becoming vice president for the family business, but her deepest commitments were to her family as a wife, mother, and grandmother.
Known for her thoughtfulness, Terri remembered every birthday, anniversary, and special occasion, always making sure to send cards or thoughtful gifts, no matter the circumstances. Her warmth extended to her nine beloved grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Terri’s dedication to them knew no bounds—she was present for every milestone, offering her support with a kindness and understanding that made each grandchild feel uniquely cherished. They will forever remember her as a constant source of encouragement and joy, forming lasting memories they will carry forward.
Throughout her life, Terri took pride in looking her best, viewing self-care as a reflection of respect for herself and those around her. She never missed her regular hair appointments or a chance to have her nails done, passing down this sense of grace to her children. Even during her first hospital stay, she told her family she needed to get well so she could get her hair done—a reflection of the dignity and poise she maintained in every aspect of her life.
Terri’s warmth, sense of humor, and thoughtful presence made her a joy to be around. She always had a song for any occasion and enjoyed singing with the church choir, sharing her kindness and charm with her community. Her Thanksgiving dinners were a special tradition every year throughout her life and a hallmark of her hospitality; her kindness made each family gathering memorable.
Terri is survived by her husband, Rich Duda; her children, Tricia (Sebastian) McCann, Rick (Frankie) Duda, Kevin (Yazmin) Duda, and Danny (Jessica) Duda; and her grandchildren, Kaitlin, Meghan, Erin, Payton, Samantha, Patrick, Danny, Aydan, and Eliza. She is also survived by her brothers, Thomas McKenna and Dennis McKenna. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Mary, and her parents-in-law, Paul and Helen Duda.

Rich, so sorry to hear of Terri's passing. Our prayers are with you 🙏.
I met Terri when we were hospital roommates at the tender age of 13 and were very good friends through college and the birth of each of our 4 children. Then our lives took different paths. We reconnected on a couple of occasions and just this past week I was thinking of her and wanting to reach out. The saying goes we should do what we think about when we think it otherwise it might be too late…. My condolences to all of you. Terri was a wonderful and special person and I will always regret my missed opportunities. With love, Mindy
Another Mary now sits in the bouquet of beautiful perfumed flowers sitting at the feet of the Great Mary, her son Jesus, His Father and the Holy Spirit. Your tears are the sprinkles of water nourishing the flowers in that bouquet.
