Catherine “Cathi” R. Rauch, 61, of Lake in the Hills, died peacefully, October 25, 2024.
Catherine was born September 4, 1963 the daughter of Robert and Joan (Fritz) Brandt. On March 13, 1993 she married Gregory G. Rauch. The couple met through mutual friends. Cathi was an amazing wife and mother. Caring for her children was always part of her core. She was an avid reader. Cathi worked at Butcher on the Block. She could light up the room just by walking in. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.
Cathi is survived by her husband, Gergory Rauch, her children, James (Meg) Wilkening and Hollis Rauch and by her sister, Patricia Allen. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her brother, Robert.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 from 4-7pm at DeFiore Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. In lieu of flowers memorials may directed to Susan Koman Breast Cancer Association.

My heart is breaking for Cathi's family. I always thought of Cathi as my niece. God bless Cathi. My husband is Grandma Joan's cousin and we went on vacation with them for about 10 years. Please know we are all heartbroken.

Cathi was such a sweetheart. Always offering to help when someone needed it. That smile definitely did light up a room. Cathi never met anyone who wouldn't call her a friend. People walking down the street knew who she was, she always took the time to talk to people, she was never too busy for that. Her smile, humor, and sassiness will be very missed. Love to the whole family, and all of her friends. She was one in a million.

My deepest sympathy goes out to her husband, daughter, son and grandchildren. I only met her once and spoke with her on the phone twice but I was deeply impressed with her! I just knew she was a beautiful person through and through! I feel very depressed for her loss to her family. My prayers are with you!
Growing up with her as my neighbor was a blessing. She welcomed me into the neighborhood with open arms and was always there for me. Her garage was always filled with coloring books, markers, music, all the ice pops you could ask for, and above all, love. I remember telling my mom I was going to take a scooter ride around the block, I would come home 3 hours later because I stopped to say hi to Mrs. Cathi. She left a mark on my heart and will be so missed by everyone. Rest in peace 💗💗
