Donald J. Dalrymple, 86, of Pingree Grove, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. He was born April 3, 1938 in Fort Sheridan, Illinois to Donald I. and Irma E. (Heiti) Dalrymple.
Don worked as a Mechanical Engineer for the Bachi Company for over 30 years. It was there he met the love of his life, Pamela Boke. The couple married in Villa Park, Illinois on December 7, 2001. After moving from Schaumburg, they made Pingree Grove their home for the last 15 years.
Don was a devoted Christian. He took great pride in his Scottish heritage, his surname even translating to “Bend in the River” in Scots language. Above all, Don enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his beloved wife, Pam, and his grandchildren.
Don is survived by his daughters, Donna (Thomas) McKeown, Karen (Ed) Malouff, and Linda (Mark) Brundidge; six grandchildren, Trevor (Cari) McKeown, Robyn McKeown, Laura (Adam) Radloff, Keith Malouff, Jeffrey (Anastasia) Brundidge, and Timmy Brundidge; and four great-grandchildren, Mili, Nora, Charlotte, and Anaiah.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by a grandson, Brendan Coit.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 from 1 pm to 3 pm at DeFiore Funeral Home in Huntley, Illinois. Funeral Service will be held at 3 pm at DeFiore Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Northern Illinois Food Bank.
