Lorraine Jeanette Galias of Huntley, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 in her home.
She was born April 9, 1927 to Guido and Ernestine (Saissi) Arrigoni. She married Henry “Hank” Galias on March 17, 1972 in Carpentersville, Illinois. He preceded her in death on October 22, 2022.
Lorraine had a multifaceted career life. She worked as a Police officer (Carpentersville), Secretary, Restauranter, and Purchasing Agent (Leewards). She and her husband often volunteered at Del Webb and took pride in their community. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.
Lorraine is survived by her children, Linda (Jack) Petersen, and Richard (Karen) Geeve; Glen (Kathy) Galias, and Doreen Danner; seven grandchildren, Tyler, Ryan, Kayla, Sayard, Karlie, Justin and Michelle; eight great grandchildren, Jacksen, Kenlie, Alex, Beau, Journey, Tatum, and Hudson. And three great great-grandchildren, Claire, William, and Marceline.
Visitation will be from 1 pm-2 pm on Friday, December 13, 2024 with a funeral Mass at 2 pm at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntley. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations are recommended to one of the following, American Heart Association, American Lung Association or IL C.O.P.S.
