Pauline L. Perna, 89 of Huntley, il, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, January 15, 2025, at Bickford Assisted Living of Oswego, il.
Pauline was born July 2, 1935, in Raymond, Illinois to George and Marian (Angle) Dexheimer. Pauline graduated from southern Illinois university with a degree in communications. She worked as a counselor for public aid in Cook County. Once she retired, she enjoyed living her life to the fullest in Del Webb’s Sun City, where she had many friends and enjoyed gardening, lunching with her friends, traveling, and golfing. She was a dedicated partner to Eugene J. Green, a loving sister to betty, and a loving and supportive aunt to her nieces and nephews.
Pauline is survived by her sister, Betty A. Gonzales of Oswego, Il; great-nephew, Jon Higgins (Julie) of Oswego, Il; great-niece, Kimberly Jennings of Oswego, Il; five great-great nieces and nephews, Brynn and Brooke Higgins and Kylie, Dylan, and Tyler Jennings.
Pauline is preceded in death by her mother and father, Marian and George Dexheimer; niece, Glenda P. Higgins; nephew, Ronald P. Gonzales; and significant other, Eugene J. Green.
A gathering to celebrate Pauline’s life will be held from 11:30am-12:30pm on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at DeFiore Funeral & Cremation located at 10763 Dundee road, Huntley, Il 60142. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Huntley, Il.

Such a lovely lady. Whenever I was with Pauline, there was a lot of conversation and laughter. Both through her career and spending time with those around her, she touched the lives of so many people. I will miss the visits and feel very lucky to have known her. Godspeed to Heaven, Pauline.
