Obituary

Zenaida “Zeny” Escudero, of Bartlett, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.

She was born on April 3, 1938 in the Philippines to Angel and Eugenia (Vasquez) Malixi, one of eight children. She married Ricardo Escudero in the Philippines on June 19, 1968. There, she worked as an elementary school teacher for many years. Eventually, she and her family immigrated to the United States. She enjoyed cooking (which she taught herself when she moved to the US), shopping, and spending time with her family.

Zeny is survived by her daughters, Averill (Yeong) Yu, Hershey (Derek) Kleckner, and Princess (Paul) Ouankeo; and four grandchildren, Tyler, Isabel, Connor, and Chloe.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 from 4 pm to 7 pm, with a prayer service at 6 pm. Graveside services will be held privately at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
